Found a way to pull wire through a packed conduit that saved a whole day

Nah, a bent hook can wreck your whole pull. Learned that one the hard way.

At a developer conference in Austin I saw two AI code generators go head to head and it split the room

Honestly I used to feel the same way but then I actually tried one of these tools and it surprised me. The edge cases were handled better than I expected because it pulls from real code patterns in the project, not just random guesses. I still had to fix a couple things but it was like 2 or 3 minor tweaks instead of a whole rewrite. Now I kind of see it as a way to get the boring parts done faster so I can focus on the tricky stuff myself.

Overheard a guy at the meat show say he never tempers his beef before grinding

Cold grinder gang, my burgers finally stopped looking like cat food.

Appreciation post: The week I finally gave up on that fancy new pointing tool

Wait what are you even talking about? "My version is still in the truck holding down a tarp"? The ProPoint 5000 is like a thousand dollar tool. You're literally using a high end mortar gun as a paperweight for your truck bed? That seems crazy to me unless you accidentally ordered the wrong thing and are too stubborn to return it. Did you actually try it on a real job or did you just look at it and decide it was too complicated?

That time my payment terminal crashed mid-transaction on Black Friday

Keep that imprinter charged with fresh ink pads and test it once a month. The little rollers get stiff if you don't use them. I also keep a spare battery pack for my main terminal now. Learned that the hard way. You can get those paper slips pre-printed with your store info at most office supply stores, saves time writing it all out by hand. And train at least one other person on how to use it. I solo it last year and almost lost my mind.
