inHad a coax splitter fail in a crawlspace last Friday and it's got me thinking about old parts
That old crimp-on stuff is basically a time bomb. My rule is if I have to touch it for any reason, it gets swapped out right then. Saves the next guy the headache too.

inVent: My flight alert app just hit 100 saved searches and I'm shocked it's that many
Honestly, how many of those alerts are for trips you'd actually take this year? I had to do a big purge last month. I kept my alerts for a real trip to Denver in July, but deleted old ones for Tokyo and Sydney that were just fantasy. Setting a time limit like @phoenix_carter mentioned is smart. It forces you to be real about what you can afford and get time off for. Now my app is just for trips I'm serious about planning.

inThe difference a year of proper grain direction made in my leather covers
Nah, grain is a big deal. Your first set warped because the leather's natural pull wasn't even. It fights itself. Using scraps for small stuff like wallets is different than a big flat cover. A thicker board might help hide the problem, but it's just a bandaid. Getting the grain right fixes the cause.

inThe silent treatment from my sister over a $200 loan is still going on after 8 months.
Ugh, tell me about it. Guess the TV was more important than the whole relationship.

inI picked a magnesium float over a steel one for a big garage floor and everyone said I was wrong
Wow, I used to think steel was fine but you're right.
