The spray tan shift I noticed with my summer clients
I've been doing spray tans for about 5 years now, and this summer I finally saw a big change in what people ask for. It used to be everyone wanted that deep, dark bronze look, like they just came back from a vacation in Cancun. But around June of this year, I started getting more requests for a lighter, natural glow, almost like they just spent a weekend at the lake. I think it's because of all those TikTok videos showing the 'clean girl' aesthetic, where the tan is subtle and doesn't scream. Plus, my clients are asking for more color correction on their faces now, which I never got before. I've adjusted my solution mix to use a lower percentage of DHA for most of them, and it's cut down on the orange complaints big time. Has anyone else seen the same shift, or is it just my rural Michigan crowd catching on late?
