Always mocked couponing, but my friend showed me how and I saved $50 this week

The thing is, your time has real value too. Spending hours to save fifty bucks works out to a pretty low hourly wage if you do the math. It often ends up being a bad trade when you look at it that way.

Yeah, that point about spending hours to save fifty bucks hits home. I used to drive across town for cheap gas, but after adding up the time and gas money, I was barely saving anything. Now I just go to the closest station and value my free time more. It's a game changer when you stop nickel-and-diming every little expense.

Man, I was totally that person too! I would spend SUNDAY afternoons cutting coupons, trying to save like ten dollars on groceries. But after reading what @loganthompson said about time having value, it clicked. All that effort for a few bucks felt so silly. Now I just grab what I need and enjoy my weekend. It's LIBERATING to not sweat the small stuff.
