Just watched a lead tech replace a whole LRU because he didn't check the circuit breaker first

28 minutes for that whole circus? That's brutal, man. I'd be hiding a smile behind my clipboard watching that go down.

Noticed something smart at a community garden in Portland

Buddy of mine tried this with a barrel that used to hold soy sauce. Entire garden smelled like a Chinese takeout for a month and everything came out tasting salty. Took him two seasons to get the soil balanced again.

Vent: My friend from college got fired over a tweet from 2012 he forgot about

Wait, did the school board actually look at the tweet or did someone dig it up and show them? I had a buddy who lost his job at a bank because of a tweet from his freshman year of college where he joked about wanting to "prank the boss" on April Fools. It was literally nothing, but the bank's legal team said it showed a pattern of "disrespect for authority" or whatever. @phoenix_carter, it's wild how a stupid joke from a decade ago can still follow you around like a shadow. Honestly, it makes me wonder who benefits from dragging up old tweets anyway.

Spent 4 hours trying to fix a cake that kept sinking in the middle

Oh man, I feel your pain. An oven thermometer is one of those things you don't realize you need until you've wasted a whole weekend on bad bakes. I'd also check that your pan is aluminum or light-colored metal, not glass or dark nonstick. Dark pans absorb more heat so the outside gets done way before the middle sets. I keep my thermometer clipped to the middle rack and give it a quick glance every time I open the door. It's cheap insurance compared to another batch of sunken cake.

I still think plywood subfloors are better than OSB for most jobs

Did you use proper vapor barrier under it?
