Read a consumer report thing online that said bank tellers actually get trained to upsell you on accounts but some of them just quietly help you out instead. Totally had a similar thing happen at Wells Fargo a couple years back where this young guy told me about a "hidden" fee I was paying on my savings account that I never noticed. He just straight up changed it for me and said "don't mention it" like it was nothing. Its wild how much banks count on people just not paying attention to that stuff. Seriously appreciate those tellers who actually look out for you instead of just trying to push products.
