I was driving through Utah last month and stumbled on a BLM spot just outside Moab for only $10 a night, no reservations needed. The view of the red rocks at sunrise was unreal, and I saved like $150 compared to the cheapest motel in town. Anyone know other good BLM sites near national parks that don't cost an arm and a leg?

Tried a different bevel angle on my gouge and it changed everything

I've been sharpening my gouges the same way for like 8 years, always going with the standard 25 degrees. Last month I figured I'd try 30 degrees on one of my older gouges that I use for tank heads. The difference was pretty wild - it held the edge way longer when I'm cutting through rusty boiler plate, and I didn't have to touch it up until I was done with the whole job. Swung by a call in Scottsdale last Tuesday where the lady said her dishwasher was backing up gross water, so I figured I'd run my shop vac on the drain line for a quick fix. I had to decide between a used Snap-on from a buddy for $150 or a brand new Harbor Freight one for $80. I went with the used Snap-on because the guy I trust said it was barely used and recently calibrated. Turns out the calibration was off by 5 foot-pounds on the low end. I ended up borrowing a coworker's digital one to finish the job and had to eat the cost of sending the Snap-on out for recalibration. I ended up walking my bike six blocks to the nearest shop where the guy just laughed at me and said I made the mess way worse. Cost me an extra $15 for them to clean off the gunk before they could patch it properly. Has anyone else tried a quick fix like that and totally regretted it?
