I finally stopped ignoring that one piece of advice about overwatering

I used to water my pothos every Monday like clockwork, but after my aunt in Phoenix told me I was drowning the roots, I cut back to every 10 days. The leaves stopped yellowing and now it's trailing like crazy. Has anyone else had to unlearn a habit they thought was right?

Same deal with overthinking life stuff. @hugo825 caught on too - calendars just lie to us.

Whoa wait, you were watering on a strict schedule like that? I killed two snake plants doing the same thing until I realized they don't care about my calendar, just when the soil's actually dry. It's wild how we think we're being helpful but really we're just drowning them.

Just when the soil's actually dry" - that's the part I had to learn the hard way too, except with friendships instead of plants. I kept checking in on a strict schedule and wondering why people felt smothered. Turns out you gotta let things breathe sometimes or you'll kill them.
