A guy on a hostel forum made me ditch my overpacking habit...
I used to pack for every what if. 4 pairs of shoes for a 2 week trip, 6 books, a full first aid kit the size of my torso. Someone on a hostel forum in Lisbon commented on my 65L pack and said, 'you look like you're moving, not traveling.' That stung but he was right. I switched to a 30L bag for my 3 week trip to Vietnam last month and honestly, I wore the same 3 shirts on rotation and didn't miss anything. The only thing I'd add is a small clothesline. Has anyone else had a lighter pack moment that made them feel dumb? What's the one thing you refuse to leave behind?
