My wife told me to weigh my flour for a year and I finally did it

Yeah, the "overdoing it on everything" part. Had a real crisis, man. Checked my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe. My scoop of brown sugar was like a packed snowball. Pancake mix? Flour mountain. @adam517, my entire baking life was a lie. Guess I was just really committed to extra carbs.

I finally learned my lesson about those cheap shears from the beauty supply on Main Street.

Bet you just got a bad pair that slipped through quality control.

A coffee shop in Denver changed how I handle feedback

A barista once told me my laptop cord was a trip hazard and I've been paranoid about cable management ever since. That tiny bit of outside perspective can spot the obvious stuff you're blind to. What's the weirdest place you've gotten good work advice?

I used to trash 'The Room' with my friends every weekend...

Watch it enough and the joke becomes the real deal.

My cousin at a dig in York said 'the real story is always in the garbage pits, not the tombs' and it changed how I see the whole field...

Yeah, that's the thing, isn't it? It's like how you can tell more about someone from their junk drawer than from their fancy front room. The fancy stuff is for show, but the trash is where the real, messy, boring life happens. We're all just building future garbage pits with our takeout containers and broken phone chargers. Makes you wonder what someone will figure out about us from a landfill in a thousand years.
