When my mom finally said who her favorite child is
We all knew my older sister was the favorite, but hearing my mom say it was weird. It explained why I always felt like I was competing for attention, and why my sister never seemed to care. Now I'm stuck wondering if talking about this will help or just cause more drama. Part of me finds it hilarious that we've been avoiding this for so long.

For years, I told myself parents don't pick favorites. Your mom saying it straight out proves me wrong. I see now why you competed for attention. That kind of honesty can mess with your head. Talking might help, or it might not, but at least the truth is out.

Man, that's rough but true. You see this kinda thing everywhere, not just in families. Like at work or with friends, people always compete for attention when they feel overlooked. That blunt honesty cuts deep, but it does clear the air a bit. Makes you notice all the silent favoritism games going on around us, lol.

Ugh, it's like that everywhere once you start looking...
