Pro tip: I used to think bulk stores were a trap, but Costco changed my mind

I went to the Costco in Springfield yesterday and saw they had a 25 pound bag of rice for $16. I did the math and it's way cheaper per meal than the small bags I buy at the grocery store every other week. I always thought you had to have a huge family to make it work, but just splitting it with a friend makes it worth it. Has anyone else found a specific bulk item that really cut their grocery bill?

That rice deal sounds amazing, honestly. Do you have a good system for storing that much rice so it doesn't go bad or get bugs? I've been burned before with pantry moths from a big bag of flour.

Freeze it first to kill any eggs.

Yeah, freezing it first like spencer362 said is key. Laura_scott, after that I move it to airtight buckets with some bay leaves tossed in, seems to keep the bugs away. What kind of containers do you usually use?
