My cousin tried to argue that birds aren't real last Christmas. My grandma almost threw her pie at him for disrespecting science. Now we just avoid conspiracy talk at holidays.

Having a backup subject ready stops arguments before they start. It feels like dodging the problem, but holiday peace is more important. Those talks never convince anyone, they just cause drama.
