They're a little linty at first but after a few washes they're fine. Brake cleaner will eat through anything eventually though, so I just use the cheap ones for that and save the good rags for fluids.

Man, I gotta say I see it the other way. Picking books by length on purpose feels like letting the people who don't read run the whole club. The real issue was never the page count, it was that everybody had to slog through something dense alone with no help. What if you'd split that 500 pager into chunks and met every two weeks to talk about each part instead of waiting till the end? You'd get the same big book payoff but nobody falls behind because you're all moving together. Length isn't the problem, it's the setup.
