inWasted $80 on a 'authoritative' book club pick that nobody finished
My own bookshelf is basically a graveyard of books I swear I'll finish someday.

inI wasted $200 on a POS system that couldn't handle split checks
Yeah demo mode never breaks, real life's a different beast.

inBought a $40 lavender mint dish soap from Etsy and it left grease on everything
@faithwalker nailed it - Dawn is pretty much the gold standard for a reason. Those boutique soaps just don't have the same surfactants or whatever magic they put in the regular stuff. In my experience, you gotta stick with what actually works even if it's boring.

inSpent $180 on a heated mattress pad and it was worth every penny
I got one three years ago and ended up returning it after a week. The preheat was nice but I woke up sweating in the middle of the night every single time. My apartment near Albany has the same radiator issues and I actually prefer a heavy wool blanket and a fleece robe. The pad made me feel trapped and the wires under the sheet bothered me. Plus my cat kept pawing at the cord and I was paranoid about a fire. Maybe I'm just picky but $180 is a lot for something that made me sleep worse.

inTried using a new clipper blade on a 6 year old Wahl and it CHANGED my fade game
Catch myself doing that kind of thing all the time. Nodding along with someone then realizing I mixed up details. Reminds me of how people will say one thing in a conversation but their actions tell a different story later. Like how @wyattrobinson caught that swap, it happens every day with bigger stuff too, not just clippers. We all get caught up in the flow and forget what we actually said or did.
