This guy at the farmers market in Boise tried to tell me how to cut a pork shoulder

Honestly, I'm with you on wondering if it's really that big of a deal. Guys like that just want to feel important for a second, you know? They read one article or heard their grandpa once and now they're the expert. I'd just nod and let him walk away, life's too short to argue about fat caps with strangers at a farmers market. It's a pork shoulder, not a surgical procedure.

Swapped my old gas offset for a charcoal drum rig 6 months ago...

Yeah but that flavor payoff is totally worth the extra fuss though!

Ran into an old timer at Glacier Basin who made me question my whole tent setup

Wait that guy has been sleeping under just a tarp for 40 years? Like no tent, no bivy sack, nothing but a piece of fabric over his head? I can't even wrap my head around that. I'd be scared a bear would just walk right up and sniff my face while I'm lying there.

Can we talk about the guy at my local shop who spoils every issue before you read it

Yeah @troythompson, when you say "is it really that big of a deal," I gotta tell you, in my experience it can be. I know a couple people who went through similar situations and it messed with their heads for a long time. Your mileage may vary, but I've seen how these things can pile up and feel way bigger than they look from the outside. It's not always about the one thing, you know? Sometimes it's the pattern that wears you down.

Switched to a password manager after a close call at work

Ha I was the dweeb" - honestly that's the most secure password method ever though. A friend of mine did the same thing with a sticky note under his desk at work, and it saved his bacon when his laptop got wiped and he forgot his email password. He's the only person I know who never had to deal with those dreaded account recovery emails.
