Warning: never ask a guy about his 'exclusive' hobby on a first date

The slideshow really takes it to another level. At least the Warhammer guy came prepared like he was giving a TED talk.

That time a fancy dinner date turned into a cheap taco truck adventure

I read somewhere that like 60% of people have had some kind of awkward money moment on a first date, and honestly that tracks. My buddy told me about a time he took a girl to this nice Italian place and his card got flagged for fraud, so they ended up splitting a gas station pizza. The thing is, if you can laugh it off together it's almost a better story than a perfect expensive meal. That taco truck story is a keeper in my book, way more memorable than some dry aged steak.

Dredge auger grabbed a wetsuit and spun it into a disaster

Two hours and a knife? That sounds more like a bad day than a real disaster. People pull whole cars out of dredge lines sometimes. A wetsuit is just neoprene, it rips pretty easy if you've got a sharp hook. Maybe it's because I run a smaller setup on the Willamette, but we've snagged way worse and never shut down for more than 30 minutes. Couldn't you have just reversed the auger and cut it loose with a boom pole? Might be overthinking the whole thing.

Found a shorter route on the Lost Coast after 3 tries

Wait does going an hour before low tide actually help that much? I've been doing the exact same thing as @daniel857, showing up right at low tide and sinking into wet sand like a dummy. Last time I did this near Shelter Cove I lost a shoe to the mud, had to hop around on one foot like an idiot for ten minutes while my buddy laughed at me. The sand firmness difference makes total sense now that I think about it, the tide's still pulling out so the beach hasn't had time to dry yet. Gonna try your trick next time and save myself the extra two miles of misery.

That time I laughed at a guy using canned air on a sensor... then it actually worked

And that gas cap trick worked because the computer was just seeing a vacuum leak, same as how dust on a sensor messes with the camera's brain.
