I swear The Office went downhill after Michael left...

Rewatching the whole series for the 4th time and the shift around season 7 is brutal. Once Steve Carell was gone by episode 22, the whole feel just changed... it turned into a different show almost overnight. Does anyone else just stop watching after he leaves or was it just me?

Stopped by a shop in Gary and saw a brazing trick I'd never tried

I was passing through Gary last Tuesday and stopped at a small fab shop a buddy recommended. I figured I'd just say hi and grab a cup of coffee, but I ended up watching one of their older guys braze a copper joint with a special flux I'd never seen before. He said it's been his go-to for 20 years because it stops oxidation better than the standard stuff. I tried it this morning on a stubborn fitting at a job site in Hammond, and sure enough, it flowed cleaner and took half the time. I'm thinking about switching my whole kit over now. Has anyone else run into a flux that really changed their approach?

Spent $40 on a tarp with grommets and it failed on night one

I was camping near Lake George last month and bought one of those cheap green tarps from a hardware store for like $40. Figured it would be fine for a weekend trip. First night, a light wind came through around 2 AM and the grommets ripped right out of the fabric. The tarp flapped around and woke up everyone in my group. I had to use paracord to tie it around rocks on the ground just to keep it from blowing away. The whole thing was useless for keeping rain off our gear. Anyone else had bad luck with budget tarps or found a better option that holds up? I'm thinking about trying a poly tarp with reinforced corners next time.

I skimped on tying the mesh tight and ended up with a cracked slab right by the bay door. Anyone else ever rush the prep work and regret it later?

Finally caved and tried that LED light therapy mask after a client swore by it for a year

My regular with cystic acne came in last month and her skin looked so clear I asked what she changed, and she said it was just that $200 mask from Amazon, so I bought one and now I'm kicking myself for not believing her sooner - has anyone else had a client change your mind on a treatment you were skeptical about?

Took me 6 months to notice I was sanding in the wrong direction

I was building a bookshelf for my daughter's room and kept getting these weird scratch marks no matter how fine of grit I used. Finally my buddy came over and watched me for like 2 minutes and said "dude you're going against the grain, you've been doing that this whole time?" I felt so dumb but after I switched direction the finish came out glass smooth. Has anyone else had a basic technique click way later than it should have?

A diner told me my sauce was too sweet, and at first I was pissed

Ngl I thought she just had bad taste, but I cut the sugar by half in my béchamel and suddenly the whole line stopped complaining about clashing flavors. Has anyone else had a customer call out something that actually made their food better?

A neighbor down the street told me she lost 30 pounds by eating a whole jar of pickles every day and I almost believed her until I asked about the sodium

She said it curbed her cravings for sweets but when I checked the label on the pickle jar it had 1,200 mg of sodium per serving and she was eating four servings a day, has anyone else run into a diet tip that sounds good but is actually dangerous if you look closer?

I spent $400 on a custom neon 'Open' sign for my shop and a pigeon built a nest directly in front of it.

Now customers keep asking if we're closed, and I'm debating the ethics of bird relocation versus just buying a spotlight.

My sister told me to wait a year before dating again

She said I needed time to heal after the papers were signed. I thought she was wrong and went on a date after just three months. It was a mess, I cried in the restaurant bathroom. I should have listened. How long did you guys wait before trying to meet someone new?
