inRant: The 'fermentation bar' I tried in Portland had their crocks sitting in direct sunlight all day.
Totally get what you mean about the sourdough thing. It's like they want the pretty crust and holes before they can even tell if the starter is alive. Where else do you see this happening? Is it just food trends or spilling into other stuff too?

inShoutout to the person who posted about fine-tuning a local model for a niche task
Same thing happened" is the worst feeling. Henry604's point about modern word associations is huge, it's like the model has a default setting you can't just turn off. What kind of poetry was your bot messing up, the rhythm or the word choice?

inI read that a single data broker can have up to 1,500 data points on one person
Actually taylor668, those opt-out sites can work better than people think. I got my name removed from a few big ones like Whitepages and Spokeo last year. It took maybe an hour total to fill out the forms. Sure, new brokers pop up, but it cuts down on the junk mail and random calls. It's not a total fix, but calling it hopeless is giving up too easy. A little effort makes a difference.

inBeen using the wrong coax stripper for attic runs this whole time
Oh man, I learned that the HARD way. I used to just squeeze the handles like I was trying to win a contest. Now I treat the adjustment screw like it's made of glass, just a tiny turn makes ALL the difference.

inVent: My entire batch of Damascus billets delaminated after a power outage in Boise
Just looked up delamination and realized I've been using the word wrong for years, maybe that's why my last attempt at a pattern weld looked like a stack of crackers. I mean, my forge might also just be a fancy hair dryer, so temperature checks out.
