Honestly thought I'd ruined my kitchen floor with a bad grout mix

Ngl, I was in my kitchen in Austin last weekend and the new tile grout came out way too dark and patchy. I had to scrub it all out with a vinegar solution and a stiff brush, which took about three hours. Anyone have a better method for fixing a grout color mistake?

Wait, is it actually ruined or just not what you pictured? Sometimes grout dries a bit uneven and evens out over a few days. I've seen people panic and make it worse by scrubbing too soon. Did you let it fully cure first? That vinegar might have messed with the sealer if you put one on.

Yeah, the "panic and make it worse" part is so real. I did that once (scrubbed too early with a brush) and it looked way worse for a bit. It did even out after a few days like you said, though.
