inAppreciation post: I wasted $40 on a cheap headset press tool that bent on the first job
Yeah, the "half the price" thing is tempting. My buddy went that route and his Enduro tool snapped on the third headset, which reminds me of what gray6 said about shops sticking with Park. Sometimes the cheaper buy ends up costing more.

inI finally switched from a standard boning knife to a curved breaking knife for lamb shoulders
Yeah exactly, it's one of those things you don't realize until someone points it out. Honestly felt the same way when I first heard it.

inTIL something wild about the skin on our hands
That "tissue paper" feeling makes sense, but I've actually found the skin around my eyes heals super fast. I get tiny nicks there when I trim my beard and they're gone in a day or two. Maybe it's thin but it's also really good at fixing itself.

inI was at the salvage yard in Springfield today and saw a 2018 Civic with a perfectly good timing cover someone had cut through with a sawzall.
That "cut through with a sawzall" thing is everywhere now. It's like people have lost all patience for doing a job right. I see it at work where someone will break a cabinet door instead of taking two minutes to unscrew the hinge. They just force everything and leave a mess for the next person. It feels like a real drop in basic care and skill.

inTIL a trick for getting my kids into comics that actually clicked
Honestly, superhero stuff can totally scare them off first.
