inSkipped the $40 oil change, paid $680 for a tow on I-80
Used to treat oil changes like a suggestion, not a rule. My last car went 8,000 miles between changes and ran fine for years, so I figured the whole 3,000 mile thing was a scam. Then my buddy’s Subaru threw a rod on the highway at 120k, and the rebuild quote was more than the car was worth. That was the moment I started setting a reminder on my phone for every 5k, no exceptions. Cheaper than a bus ticket home, that’s for sure.

Tech is great until it starts lying, that's the whole problem.

inThe 'quiet episode' rule is killing modern bingewatching
...and here's my question though, are these quiet scenes actually telling you something about the character, or are they just padding the runtime? Because I've seen shows where a minute of someone just breathing says more than ten pages of dialogue ever could. But I've also seen way too many shows where it's clearly just the writers not knowing how to move the plot forward, so they throw in a long shot of a hallway to seem deep. The difference is pretty obvious when you pay attention. So is the show you watched actually earning those moments, or are you just calling out lazy storytelling? Because I'm genuinely curious if we're talking about the same kind of fake-deep filler or if you just don't vibe with slow burns at all.

inCancelled a dinner date to try a food truck tour instead, way better
Why does every messed up plan end up being the best night though? I swear the taco truck thing is proof that pressure just kills everything. Like, you can't fake being chill when you're eating salsa on a curb. I've had more real conversations over paper plates than any white tablecloth. The mess and the chaos are kind of the point honestly.

inRant: I thought EGT gauges were overkill until my pyro hit 1450 on a grade outside Flagstaff
Buddy cooked his factory turbo hauling hay in Idaho, cracked the housing, never again without a gauge.
