Swamp cooler filters made me ditch the cheap route for good
After swapping my cooler pads every June for three years, I finally paid $60 for the thicker 4-inch style at a Santa Fe hardware store instead of the $25 thin ones. The airflow difference in my living room was obvious within a week, no more weak breeze on 100 degree days. Has anyone else noticed the cheap pads just don't hold up past May here?
Twenty-five bucks at the True Value on Cerrillos was my go-to for two summers and the pads were crumbling by July. Switched to the 4-inch cellulose ones last year and my bedroom actually stays cool past noon now. Those thin pads are a scam once June hits.
