TIL my model train hobby changed how I do carpet seams
For years, the crew always said a knee kicker is the only way to get seams right. But from my model train builds, I learned that slow, careful pressure works better than force. Now I use a small hand roller and focus on tiny adjustments, which gives me cleaner lines. My buddies think I'm wasting time, but my jobs look sharp and hold up. Maybe we don't always need the loudest tools on the truck.
