My old book club self would get so annoyed when we went off track. I wanted to stick to the planned questions. But those random tangents are where the real talk happens. We ended up connecting the book to our own lives in a way the reading guide never touched. That's how you find the deeper meaning everyone else skips over. I totally get it now.
