Walked through a laundromat yesterday and noticed something off about every single dryer

Yeah but @luna891, a laundromat's old machines aren't the same as messing with live wires in your walls.

Had a talk with my old manager Dave last week that completely flipped how I see side projects on resumes

Honestly, I think that's a bit much. One hiring manager's pet peeve doesn't mean every recruiter feels that way. People start side projects all the time to learn something new, not just to ship a finished product. It's pretty normal to have a few dead repos on your profile if you're just messing around with code or trying out ideas. I'd say it only matters if those projects are all you've got and they're all clearly abandoned. Otherwise, I bet most people don't even scroll that deep to care.

Had a regular tell me her extensions saved her marriage

Hold on @paige427, I don't think it's about being shallow or just the hair itself. It's more like people get stuck in routines, and a visible change can work as a reminder to actually SEE your partner again. Not saying EVERY guy will suddenly become a door opener, but I've definitely seen it more than a few times. That fresh confidence thing is real, even if it sounds corny. It's like a little nudge that makes someone look at their person with FRESH eyes after years of autopilot.

Bike shop repair vs. DIY on a rainy Sunday in Portland - which way to go?

Starting with a question here. Why do people act like calling a shop is some kind of guaranteed fix? You ever tried calling a bike shop on a Saturday afternoon in spring? Half the time you get a voicemail or someone who tells you to just bring it in and theyll look at it. Then you still end up waiting three hours same as everyone else. Bending a hanger back isnt really gambling if youve done it before and you know your bikes limits. But I get it, some people just prefer to let someone else handle the greasy stuff. You ever had a shop tell you something would be a quick fix, then charge you for a whole new part you didnt need?

My philodendron started yellowing 3 days after I repotted it

My pothos would probably hold a grudge for years.
