inMy buddy in Denver said my old sleeping bag was a joke for anything under 40 degrees, and after a cold night in the Rockies last fall, I finally spent $200 on a proper 15-degree down bag.
Come on, that shivering night probably taught you more than any fancy pad ever could. Being a little uncomfortable makes you pay attention and adapt out there. Sometimes the best gear upgrade is just a tougher mindset.

inMy 'eat only soup for a month' plan ended in a grocery store aisle
Remember those juice cleanses from a few years back? I tried one and ended up so dizzy I nearly fell over just taking out the trash. Your body really does need more than just liquids to run on. It's a rough way to learn about balanced meals.

inShowerthought: I used to spend 3 days on a standard house closing file, now I'm down to 8 hours.
Yeah, "down to 8 hours" is wild. I read an article about how a lot of that paperwork is getting automated now. Makes sense things would speed up.

inRemember when we used to torque bolts by feel? My old crew chief would just say 'good enough'.
Look, all that paper and those fancy wrenches just slow the job down to a crawl. A good mechanic knows the feel of a bolt seating, and you get a rhythm going. I've seen guys with torque wrenches mess up just as bad because they didn't clean the threads first or they missed the click. It's about skill, not just following a book. All this extra stuff just costs more money and turns a quick fix into a whole day's project. Sometimes "good enough" is actually good enough, because the plane is still flying.

inMy attempt to watch a show in order backfired in a weird way
So you're telling me I should watch my life backwards to figure out where it went wrong?
