My sister called me out for always complaining about money but never doing anything about it

She straight up said "you whine about being broke but you buy coffee out every single day." That hit hard because she was right. I was dropping like $40-50 a week on lattes and breakfast sandwiches from the shop near my office. I started making coffee at home and packing a bagel or something. After 3 months I had saved over $500 according to my budgeting app. Now I put that money straight into a savings account for emergencies. Has anyone else had a family member call them out on a spending habit that finally made them change?

Your sister did you a favor honestly... sometimes you need someone to just say it plain like that. That coffee and breakfast sandwich habit adds up way faster than most people realize until you actually sit down and do the math on it. I started doing the same thing after my brother pointed out my daily energy drink and gas station snack routine... switched to bringing a thermos of coffee and some trail mix from home. It felt like a small thing but the money really does pile up when you cut out those little daily spends.

Did you see that article about how the average person spends like $1,200 a year just on coffee shop stuff? It blew my mind when I read it because I never actually added it up myself. I switched to making a big pot of coffee at home and putting it in a thermos, and honestly I don't miss the drive-thru at all. The trail mix idea is solid too, way cheaper than grabbing a bag of chips and a soda every day lol.
