inStopped buying 'premium' trash bags because they popped just the same
Three weeks with the generic ones from Smart & Final and no blowouts here either. @kimreed mentioned Kirkland and I gotta say I tried those too once Sam's Club was out of stock on their store brand and yeah they're solid. I think the issue is premium brands spend all their money on marketing fancy packaging and scents instead of just making the bag thick enough. My last box of Glad had a weird thin spot right along the seam every single bag, what a joke. I just look for the ones with the thickest feel in the store now no matter the brand and save myself ten bucks.

inHad to pick between a $5 bag of fancy flour and a $12 block of butter at the store yesterday
Oh come on, "fed it bedtime stories"? That sourdough starter is a lump of flour and water, not a pet. I get that good butter is a game changer, but are we really acting like a dying starter is an emergency? You could've just tossed it and started a new one for like a dollar. People get way too dramatic about this stuff, its just bread.

inA local historian in Savannah told me my "authentic" arrowhead was a bottle cap from the 1950s
At least the story is worth more than the bullet ever was lmao.

inDropped $200 on a fancy Danish dough whisk and I'm still mad about it
Yeah that's just how "fancy" stuff works, style over substance every time.

inFound a weird trick for writer's block that actually worked for me
Totally agree with that "takes the pressure off" part. I did that for a short story once where I wrote the last paragraph first, and it was a huge relief. I knew the character would end up back in their childhood home, so I could focus on the journey there instead of stressing about the ending the whole time. Felt like I could actually enjoy the discovery in the middle.
