The $15 'gourmet' spice bundle that ruined 3 dinners
I grabbed one of those multi-spice packs at the dollar store last week, thought I was saving big. Turned out the paprika was basically colored sawdust, it made my chili taste like cardboard and I had to toss the whole pot. Anyone else get burned by those discount seasoning sets, or is there a cheap brand that's actually decent?

Man, that brings back a memory from a camping trip where my buddy brought one of those giant value jars of "all purpose seasoning" from a gas station. He dumped half of it into a pot of beans and we spent the whole night feeling like we licked a salt mine. Ended up eating cold hot dogs straight from the package and calling it dinner. Those cheap blends are a gamble for sure, sometimes you hit a decent one but mostly you're just eating regret.
