My friend insisted we try a 'cooperative' game and I was sure I'd hate it.

My buddy's game group fell apart over a rules debate in Catan. One guy insisted trading only worked on your turn, another said anytime. The argument got so heated about brick for wool that someone flipped the board. Plastic settlements flew everywhere. They didn't speak for a month after that.

Just finished a 12 foot ceiling by myself for the first time

That's a great achievement, but honestly, 12 feet solo sounds like a huge safety risk to me. I'd never do it without a spotter.

TIL my bank's new 'instant transfer' feature actually takes 3 business days if you send over $500

Ugh, mine does the same exact thing!

Spent $200 on a customer service training course and it made things worse

Man, I used to think all that professional training stuff was the answer. But after seeing how my wife's office forced some similar course on her team, I get it now. Those perfect scripts just don't work on real people having a bad day. It kinda makes you sound like a robot, and that just pisses folks off more. I mean, maybe some of the basic ideas are okay, but you gotta make it sound like yourself.

A trick for getting a tight corner on a weird angled ceiling joint

Ever see a flexible bead push out from the mud over time? I'm with Brian on this one. That plastic doesn't grip the compound like paper tape does. On a vaulted ceiling job last year, the flexible stuff on a shallow angle just left a visible ridge after painting. Paper tape and hot mud for the first coat locks it in solid. It's more steps, but it stays put.
