Went to a craft fair last weekend and saw way too many people selling 'bullet journals' that were just pre-printed planners

Gotta say I totally get where you're coming from. The whole point of a bullet journal is to build your own system, not just fill in someone else's template. It's like buying a coloring book and saying you made the art yourself. People are basically selling overpriced notebooks with a few lines and boxes already printed in them now. Might as well just grab a legal pad and a ruler at that point. Miss when it was actually about the process and not just the aesthetic.

That one week when my swamp cooler flooded the utility room twice

Those Monsoon seasons in Albuquerque usually dump 6 to 8 inches of rain in a few weeks, so hard water scale plus sudden heavy flow is a nasty combo. Clean valves twice a year and check the water pressure after a storm, a spike can blow past a clean valve if your house has a bad pressure regulator. That's the hidden variable nobody checked before their second flood.

That $150 'anti-bark' collar I swore was a scam actually worked on my neighbor's dog

Get out of my head, I literally just told my wife the other day that these pots are basically plant rehab for overbearing plant parents like us...

Bulk rice at Costco is cheaper but not always cheaper per serving

Funny you mention rinsing, I had a buddy who swore by that method too. He forgot to rinse once and ended up with a pot of rice that looked like glue, had to soak it for a day to get it clean.

Shoutout to the guy at Home Depot who saved my wallet on a water heater install

Yeah what is it with those old dudes? They just know. Had a guy at Ace tell me my lawnmower just needed the carb cleaned before I went and bought a new one. Saved me like three hundred bucks.
