inPSA: Saw a $28 burger on a menu in Portland and it made me think about plating costs.
Slate tiles for a steak? That's a new one. Feels like you're paying for the plate rental, not the meal. At that point, just give me the food on a paper towel and knock ten bucks off the bill.

inShowerthought: My cheap pressure washer almost cost me a $500 repair bill
Oh man, that's actually a solid save! Honestly, that grit is more likely from your house pipes or the spigot itself than the hose.

inPro tip: You can get a free soil test kit from your local county extension office, and the results will blow your mind.
That bit about naturally acidic soil from @eva908 is spot on. My uncle's place upstate is like that. Whole hillside is just blueberries and ferns, nothing else takes. He tried for years to put in a proper lawn. Ended up with a patchy mess of weeds and sour grass. Finally gave up and just mulched the whole thing. Now it's a walking path. Sometimes the land just wants what it wants.

inI finally listened to a homeowner who called my wire runs 'spaghetti art'
Wait, they let their cat near the panel? That's a whole new safety issue.

inHad a customer in Springfield ask me why I was digging post holes by hand when his neighbor used an auger. He said, 'You're making this way harder on yourself, man.'
Told him sometimes the old ways are the best ways. Had a guy say the same thing to me last year when I was fixing a fence.
