Went to a town hall in Boise and the speaker got cut off for talking about water rights

They were halfway through explaining how some old treaties give local tribes control over groundwater, and the mic just went dead. The moderator said it was a 'technical issue' but everyone saw the guy from the city water board signal to cut it. On one hand, maybe they didn't want to start a panic. On the other, it felt like they were hiding a real problem people should know about. Has anyone else seen a public talk get shut down over something like this?

That's classic power move stuff right there. Cutting the mic is never a technical issue when it's that convenient. What are they so afraid of people hearing?

My friend's mic cut out right after he asked about the budget at a town hall meeting.

Never a technical issue" is a big assumption. I've seen mics fail at the worst times for real reasons. Sometimes a coincidence is just a coincidence.
