Managed to finish a short story I've been picking at for ages.

My last draft sat untouched for four weeks. I found that distance made editing way more effective than jumping right in. Do you step away from your work first?

TIL instant quote requests are killing my workflow

Exactly, been doing this for years. Throw out a solid range based on what they tell you, but always add that the real number comes after you check things out. It filters out the tire kickers instantly. You waste way less time driving to places that can't afford the work. Plus it makes you look responsive, not like you're stuck in 1995.

Just noticed my ferment jar was in direct sunlight, big mistake

So would you agree @hart.kelly that avoiding light swings matters more than nailing one perfect temp?

My week in Bangkok showed me how digital nomads are embracing street food for lunch breaks

Yeah, but let's real here (street food isn't always the best move). I got sick from a pad thai cart last month and lost two work days. Trying to balance a laptop and a bowl of noodles on a tiny stool is not productive. The noise and crowds make it hard to take a quick call between bites. If you hit a popular spot, the line can take longer than a sit-down meal. Sometimes paying for a quiet cafe with wifi is worth the extra time.

Question about the proper way to sharpen chisels without a guide

Oh yeah, anchoring your elbows makes all the difference! I struggled with shaky hands until I tried that tip. Now my shots are way more consistent.
