Warning: My virtual baking class left me with a dough disaster

Honestly, back in the day, learning meant a real baker watching your technique. Tbh, these online sessions just show a screen and you hope for the best. Ngl, I followed a module last week and my pastry came out all wrong because I couldn't ask a quick question. It's annoying how this new way loses the personal touch. I really crave that instant feedback from a live class.

Honestly, online baking classes have saved my skin more than once. Tbh, being able to pause and rewind the video lets me catch details I'd miss in a live class. Ngl, I've messed up too, but forums and chat groups for the class often have quick answers from other students or the instructor. Sure, it's not the same as having someone right there, but for folks with busy schedules, it's a game changer. Sometimes you just have to make do with what you can access.

Wait, I have to push back on this @logan205. You miss way too much learning by touch and smell through a screen. Videos just can't show you what dough should really feel like when it's ready. I took an in-person class once where the teacher fixed my grip on a bench scraper instantly, something a video would never catch. That physical help right when you need it changes everything. Online is fine for basics, but you hit a wall pretty fast without a real person there to guide your hands.
