Vent: My view on quartz shifted after a rainy day find.

I thought it was just clear crystal, but a stained piece taught me how water changes it over time.

For years I picked up what I called "dirty quartz" until I finally got one wet. Turns out I was just collecting weirdly shaped mud clumps this whole time.

Found a plain river rock once that looked totally boring when dry. Got it wet in a puddle and suddenly all these rusty orange lines showed up, like a secret map. Made me look at every smooth stone differently after that (water is a great revealer, honestly).

Bet those lines were iron deposits in the rock, not rust. Water really does show a stone's true colors though, it's wild.

Used to skip wetting stones until I saw one blush orange, now I always check.
