Update: Book club fight over a character's motives settled with a simple change

Actually, the talking stick idea from my old scout troop made things worse. Kids would just mess with the stick instead of listening, and shy people never wanted to hold it. It put more focus on the object than the talking.

My 'simple' habit tracker layout turned into a two-hour design nightmare

That's the fun part, honestly.

Unpopular opinion: I started keeping a $5 USB fan in my toolkit after a server room in Omaha hit 90 degrees last month.

My buddy learned this the hard way when his AC died in a small office closet. He had a switch just cooking itself for like two hours before he could get a real fan in there. That little USB fan is a total lifesaver for spot cooling in a pinch, honestly a genius move. I keep one in my bag now too after hearing that story.

My attempt at making homemade pasta turned into a kitchen monster

Calling it a "kitchen monster" seems a bit much, I mean it's just pasta. Maybe it's just me but turning a dough fail into soup dumplings sounds like a solid save, not a disaster. We've all had stuff completely fall apart, it still tastes fine. Idk, maybe don't be so hard on yourself, it's just dinner.

Designing furniture taught me to value hand sketches

Totally, my painter friend does the same thing before any big mural. He'll fill a whole notebook with little scribbles that look like nothing, then suddenly the whole wall makes sense. Kinda like how @masonbell said Wright burned through sketchpads, right? My friend says it stops him from buying the wrong colors or realizing a idea is bad halfway up a ladder.
