My attempt at desk exercises sent a coffee cup flying

I was trying to follow a video for stretches you can do at your drafting station. The guy said to twist your torso and reach across your body. So I did, but I forgot my coffee was RIGHT there on the edge of the table. My elbow hit the mug and it went sailing, spraying coffee all over my half-finished electrical plan. The paper was SOAKED, and I had to start over. Now I have a strict no liquids near the desk rule when I do my little workout. It was ABSOLUTELY ridiculous, but hey, at least I got a reminder to move more. Maybe next time I'll just stand up and walk around instead.

Your story hits way too close to home for me. I once tried to do leg lifts under my desk and kicked my computer tower so hard it rebooted (a truly majestic moment of failure). The whole thing was just a mess, and I had to explain to my boss why my work suddenly vanished. Now I'm super paranoid about any movement at my station, which kinda defeats the purpose of staying active. It's like our desks are booby-trapped against good intentions, you know? But hey, at least we're trying, even if it ends in coffee disasters or unexpected reboots.

Ugh, I once shattered a monitor trying to stretch at my old desk!

Honestly, that whole booby-trapped desk feeling is a bit much. Gotta just learn from the mess and adapt, not freeze up. Like @barbara827 breaking a monitor is a solid lesson to clear the area first. My method is to put the coffee on the floor, move the chair back, and do some simple shoulder rolls right there. It's not about never moving, it's about moving smarter so you don't have to explain a reboot to your boss.
