TIL it took exactly 14 months for me to laugh after my divorce
14 months on the dot. I was standing in the hardware aisle at Home Depot and some guy dropped a whole bucket of paint on his foot. I laughed so hard I cried. When did you hit that weird milestone where things finally felt funny again?

Wait, which part got you - the fact that someone actually went dumpster diving for paint or that Home Depot just let him walk out with it dripping everywhere?

Oh man, I gotta respectfully disagree with you there. The dumpster diving part is wild for sure but Home Depot letting him walk out dripping paint is pretty standard in my experience. Those stores are so understaffed and chaotic that nobody's really watching the exit or caring about a mess. I've seen people walk out with carts full of lumber that wasn't paid for and nobody batted an eye. The real story to me is that he even found usable paint in the dumpster, most of that stuff is either dried up or the wrong color someone returned. So yeah, the store part didn't surprise me at all, but finding good paint in a dumpster is what got me.
