inTIL it took exactly 14 months for me to laugh after my divorce
Oh man, I gotta respectfully disagree with you there. The dumpster diving part is wild for sure but Home Depot letting him walk out dripping paint is pretty standard in my experience. Those stores are so understaffed and chaotic that nobody's really watching the exit or caring about a mess. I've seen people walk out with carts full of lumber that wasn't paid for and nobody batted an eye. The real story to me is that he even found usable paint in the dumpster, most of that stuff is either dried up or the wrong color someone returned. So yeah, the store part didn't surprise me at all, but finding good paint in a dumpster is what got me.

inThe pharmacy called to say my meds were ready three days after I picked them up
Well, is it possible the system actually worked as intended? Doctors' offices are swamped, and if they promised a 10-day turnaround, that was probably just a rough estimate. In my experience, most medical records take 30 to 45 days, so 38 days is actually on the fast end of normal. Your adjuster likely has deadlines too, and if they didn't get the paperwork on time, closing the claim might have been the only legal option they had. I've been through this a few times, and I've learned to always call and verify deadlines with both the doctor and the insurance company upfront, not just assume everything will be smooth.

inHardwired vs wireless sensors on a big commercial job - which side are you on?
The hardwired payoff is reliability every time.

inThat time I wired a motion sensor backwards and set off the homeowner's rooster alarm at 3 AM in Fresno
Bro I absolutely love this, the mental image of a bunch of chickens losing their minds at 3 AM is killing me lol. Reminds me of the time I tried hooking up a motion light to my buddy's shed and accidentally wired it so the motion detector triggered the garage door opener instead of the light. The whole neighborhood got treated to a midnight garage door show for about an hour before we figured out why it kept going up and down by itself. At least the chickens had a purpose, that garage door was just confused haha.

inStumbled on a stat about grocery delivery fees that made me cancel my subscription
Wait @elliotadams, $87 over three months is wild, that's like $10 a week for not lifting a finger.
