inMy $200 speaker upgrade that made my AI voice assistant useless
My buddy Mike did the exact same thing last year with his living room setup. He bought this $300 soundbar with all these fancy mics built in, thinking it would pick up his voice from across the couch. Instead, it kept hearing the TV and would answer questions about whatever show was on instead of him. He spent a whole Saturday rearranging his coffee table and the bookshelf just to get the thing to hear him say "turn on the lights." Meanwhile his old little speaker on the end table never missed a command, even when he was in the kitchen. He ended up putting the new soundbar in the bedroom where it only needs to listen to one person, and now he's back to using the cheap one for everything else.

inI finally got the bloom right after watching someone do it live
Whoa, that's a solid find. But here's the thing I gotta ask: when you waited the full 45 seconds, did the water actually drain through the bed differently, or was it mostly just the crust looking better? Because I've held my bloom longer before and got a fluffier top, but then the overall cup tasted kind of flat and muted. I'm wondering if that long of a sit changes the drawdown so much that you lose some of the brighter notes. What did your final brew time end up at compared to the rushed version?

inI finally tried JIS screwdrivers on old Japanese cameras
Dude, preach. I had the exact same facepalm moment a few years back. I was restoring an old F-1 and I’d already stripped one of the tiny screws on the prism cover, which is a nightmare. Then a buddy who builds vintage scooters told me JIS was an actual standard. He was like, “Bro, you’ve been forcing a square peg into a round hole this whole time.” The first time a Vessel driver bit into a screw on a beat up Yashica, I swear I felt like a madman for fighting with Phillips for so long. Never looking back.
