My sleeping pad kept losing air until I spotted the tiny hole

My buddy found his leak by spraying soapy water on the pad and seeing where it bubbled.

Why my simple compass keeps me on track better than apps

When you said reading a compass and map got you back fast, that shows how RELIABLE basic tools are. Tech can die exactly when you need it, like in that fog. How did you first get good at using a map on your own?

Question about part choices after a repair in a lakeside cabin

My grandfather always kept a jar of assorted springs and latches in his workshop. He fixed most things around the farm with just those bits and some common sense. I see @the_ray's point about factory parts for important things, though. The real trick is knowing when a ten dollar part is enough and when you're just putting a band-aid on a bigger issue. That latch might hold for years, but on a daily driver, I'd want to be sure it won't fail at a bad time.

After talking to folks in my town, I doubt electric cars are the quick fix we want

Wait, is it really that huge of a problem now though @alice900? Honestly, a lot of those older plants have been getting way cleaner with scrubbers and stuff over the last 20 years. Tbh, the whole energy switch seems to cause more panic than the actual slow progress we're making. Sometimes feels like we're just trading one set of worried headlines for another.

Anyone bought from Duramax Sheds Online recently?

Oh man, definitely set aside a full weekend to put it together. I mean the instructions were clear but it just takes forever with all those panels. Worth it in the end though for keeping your stuff dry.
