Just saw the difference 6 weeks of stretching made on my back pain

I've been dealing with a tight lower back for years from all the kneeling and bending I do at work. My physical therapist had me do 3 simple hamstring and hip flexor stretches every morning for just 8 minutes total. Yesterday I bent down to grab a roll of 12 gauge wire off the bottom shelf and realized I didn't have to brace myself or grunt getting back up. Has anyone else had a specific stretch totally change how they feel during the day?

My old college buddy told me my code was too messy and I got defensive but he was right

I was showing him this script I wrote for scraping our local weather data and he just said 'dude this is like a spaghetti monster threw up on my screen'. I was annoyed at first because I spent like 3 hours on it Sunday night. But then I looked at it again and realized I had like 12 nested if statements and no comments anywhere. He showed me how to break it into functions in like 10 minutes and now I can actually read what I wrote from last week. Has anyone else had a friend call them out on bad habits and it actually helped?

Is it smarter to pay for a premium chamber membership or just hit up every free mixer you can find in Phoenix?

I spent $400 on a high-end chamber membership last year and got 3 solid leads, but my buddy goes to 10 free networking events a month and says he does way better. Which route has worked for you all, the focused investment or the scattergun approach?

Found a hidden water leak behind my bathroom mirror using a dry sponge trick

Last Saturday I was redoing the caulk around my upstairs tub and noticed the mirror felt weirdly warm. Touched it and the backing was peeling off. Pulled it down and found a slow drip from a pipe joint behind the wall that had been going for months. That one drip cost me about 40 square feet of drywall damage and a mirror I gotta replace now. Whole thing started because the caulk seam above the mirror was cracked and water from shower steam was getting in. Has anyone else found hidden damage behind bathroom fixtures like this?

The keto diet lasted 8 days before I caved at a diner in Tulsa

I was all in on keto last month, bought the expensive almond flour and everything. By day 8 I was at a Waffle House off Route 66 and ordered hash browns with gravy. Has anyone else found that cutting out carbs just makes you think about them constantly?

Rant: Calling out a bad take on cancel culture got me blocked by 30 people in one night

So last week I posted in a local facebook group about that whole situation with the baker in Denver who wouldn't make a cake for a gay couple. I just said the guy was legally in the wrong but people treating him like a villain was overkill. Within 3 hours I had 30 people block me and like 50 angry comments calling me a bigot. I wasn't even defending him, just saying the cancel mob went too far. Learned that nuance is dead in these groups. Has anyone else been jumped on for not picking a side hard enough?

I used to hate asking for help at the hardware store, but a 2 minute conversation saved my bathroom remodel

I was dead set on figuring out how to fix my shower valve myself, (I even watched 3 YouTube videos). Then this old timer at Ace Hardware in Portland just asked one question about my pipe diameter and I realized I was about to buy the wrong part completely. He showed me the right adapter and a $12 tool I'd never even heard of. Has anyone else had a random employee save them from a huge mistake like that?

Update on my garage door opener situation

My old chain drive opener was so loud it would wake up my kid during naps, and it finally gave out last month. I decided to try a new belt drive model instead of just replacing it with the same kind. The difference is crazy, the new one is almost silent and runs way smoother. Installation took me about 4 hours last Saturday, but it was worth the extra $50 over the basic chain model. I should have switched years ago. Anyone in the NE Heights have a good local source for garage door parts if I need them in the future?

Spent $60 on a password manager and it saved my whole online life last month

My main email got hit with a bunch of weird login attempts, but because I had a different, strong password for everything from the manager, nothing else got taken over. I never would have made all those unique codes without it. Do you guys think a paid manager is worth it over a free one?
