PSA: I cleaned a Pentax lens with rubbing alcohol and the coating came off

Had a Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 come in last week. Front element had some stubborn haze. I usually use lens cleaner, but I was out. Figured 70% isopropyl would be fine for a quick wipe. Big mistake. The coating started to haze up and smear immediately. It looked like a foggy mess. I stopped right away, but the damage was done. Now the element needs a full recoating job. I always thought alcohol was safe for glass. Learned it can wreck certain older coatings. Has anyone else run into this with vintage Pentax glass? What's your go-to for tough haze now?

My local comic shop keeps mixing up the original Secret Wars with the 2015 one

I was picking up my pull list at Heroes Haven in Springfield yesterday and heard two different people ask for the 'new' Secret Wars trade, but they meant the 80s one. The clerk had to correct them both. It matters because the 2015 event is a totally different story with different stakes, not a straight remake. I've seen this mix-up happen online a lot too, especially in new reader threads. Does your shop have this problem, or is it just mine?

I think everyone is wrong about using a 4-inch nail for framing

I keep seeing guys at the yard and on jobs grabbing 4-inch nails for framing like it's the only option. For most interior walls with 2x4s, a 3 1/4-inch nail is plenty. The extra length just makes it harder to drive and increases the chance of splitting the wood, especially with cheaper lumber. I switched to 3 1/4-inch for a whole house project in Tacoma last fall and my nail gun jammed less, plus the walls felt just as solid. Why are we all wasting time and material on the longer nail when the shorter one does the job? Has anyone else tried this and seen a real difference?
