Stepped on the scale this morning and it showed a number I haven't seen since 2019.

Man, that hits hard. @uma685 is totally right about giving yourself credit. I spent years beating myself up for not doing the "big" workout, but just taking the stairs at work actually changed things. It's those tiny wins that build up.

Shoutout to the old timer who told me to try a different torque sequence on a 6.7 Powerstroke head gasket

Read an article once about head gaskets on older engines. They said the sequence is less about even pressure and more about controlling how the metal warms up. You tighten it in stages following a specific pattern to let everything settle.

I was using the wrong kind of saw blade for plywood for three years until a guy at the lumber yard asked me why my cuts looked so rough.

Man, my buddy did the same thing with a table saw. He was using a framing blade on birch ply for months, just wrecking the edges. He kept blaming his old saw until someone at a woodworking class finally asked to see his setup. The look on his face when they told him to just swap to an 80-tooth blade was priceless. All that time and wasted material, you know? Makes you wonder what other simple fixes we're all missing.

A piece of old garden hose saved me from a crawl space disaster

My buddy tried that foam insulation trick @faithwalker and it saved his dog from chewing another phone charger.

Vent: I tried that 'no shampoo for a year' experiment and my hair is a disaster now

It's like we're all trying to solve new problems with old tools that just don't fit anymore, @dianas50. You see it with food trends and cleaning hacks too, where the simple fix makes a bigger mess. Maybe we should just use what works now.
