inTrying to set a post for a hammock stand in my Atlanta yard, I hit a water line about 18 inches down with the auger.
Scared straight is just being lazy now.

inHot take: Seeing a manager get pushed out for a dumb tweet from 2012 makes me overthink every chat message...
Ngl it's made me paranoid about old group chats too. Like even stuff that felt private at the time doesn't feel safe anymore.

inMy mom's DIY garden bench snapped in half when my aunt sat down.
Totally get what you mean about the peace of mind, iris175. My buddy built this really nice looking coffee table, used all the right joinery and everything. Looked solid as a rock until his kid leaned on it one day and a whole leg just snapped off clean. Turns out the wood had some hidden rot he never spotted. Sometimes you just can't beat the stress testing that factory stuff gets, even if the DIY version looks nicer on day one.

inFiguring out my yard lights: go solar or run wires?
Disagree completely. Solar lights have come a long way and are plenty reliable for most yards. You don't have to dig up your whole garden or deal with ugly wires everywhere. Sure, batteries need replacing sometimes, but that's cheap and easy compared to fixing buried wires if they break. Wired lights are a pain to set up and you're stuck with them once they're in. Plus, solar lets you move lights around whenever you want without any hassle.

inWatching a tutorial online showed me people make rose arrangements too hard.
Totally agree. Last time I just used three roses, some baby's breath from the yard, and stuck them in a clean mason jar. Way less stressful than following some complex tutorial step by step. Keeping it simple let the colors really stand out.
