inMy writing prompt idea got killed by a rogue seagull at the Santa Monica pier
44th and Spruce in Philly I had the same thing happen but with a pigeon and a half-eaten soft pretzel. I learned my lesson after trying to rewrite my lost prompt from memory, it came out sterile and boring. Now I always type rough ideas into my phone notes as they come, specifically in a locked "vomit draft" folder so I don't even judge the quality. The bird did you a favor honestly, because now you've got a ridiculous story to tell instead of some generic time travel plot that's been done a thousand times

inHot take: Gulf jobs off Louisiana are WAY overhyped for the money
Did your buddy mention the boat breaking down twice and getting stuck offshore for an extra week?

inVent: That $300 framing nailer I hated for 3 months finally won me over
Three months of fighting a tool that jams constantly" - that right there tells me you're way more patient than me lol. I would've chucked that thing in the trash after like a week of fighting jams. Honestly though, I wonder if people just get attached to the brand name and refuse to admit it's gone downhill...

inSpent 10 years sanding body filler with 80 grit before a painter told me I was ruining his day
You ever been the guy making someone else's job harder without knowing it? I did the same thing with my DA sander for years. Was using 40 grit to strip paint fast, then jumping to 120. All I did was leave deep swirls that never came out right. My buddy handed me a block of 80 grit and told me to actually feel the scratches. That changed everything. Started spending way more time blocking with 150 and finishing with 220. Paint laid down flat after that.

inBought a $12 magnetic parts tray on clearance and it's saved me hours looking for screws
My first trip with mine I saved $45 and I immediately sent a photo to @nancy524 like 'look I'm an adult now' haha. Guess we're both in the 'why did I wait so long' club.
