Honestly, gravel yards are overrated for Abq houses
Honestly, I know most folks here love gravel yards for saving water. Tbh, I think they're more trouble than they're worth. Ngl, the gravel always ends up in places it shouldn't, like clogging drain pipes. For example, my own yard sent gravel into the street during a big wind last month. It also makes the ground super hot, which can crack foundation slabs over time. Most people would say I'm wrong, but I've seen better results with rock mulch and a few hardy plants. Honestly, it just feels like a messy fix for a dry climate.
