inJust realized the local native plant sale is a better bet than the big box store garden center
My local hardware store gets its plants from a big regional grower, and honestly they thrive just fine. I mean, that coneflower you bought could have just been a bad batch. Those native sales often have volunteers doing the growing, and the quality can be really hit or miss. A professional nursery has way more control over disease and soil quality from the start. Sometimes a plant just gets sick, it doesn't mean where you bought it is the problem. I've had plenty of big box store plants outlive the fancy local ones.

inMy teacher at the Chicago workshop said to always use a bone folder on the spine before gluing. Tried it on a leather journal last month and the pages sat way flatter.
But does it actually make a big difference or is it just a small step? I've glued plenty of spines without one and they open fine. Feels like maybe it's just for people who want everything perfect.

inShowerthought: I picked the $35 slow cooker over the $150 air fryer and it's been a game changer for meal prep.
Remember my friend burned three dinners with her smart oven trying to follow complicated recipes. She finally listened to @tarag28 and got a basic slow cooker for stews. Now she actually has food ready when we come over.

inOur book club's vote for 'The Goldfinch' in Portland got completely derailed
Ever think about making a "no homework" rule? Like, no outside papers allowed. My old group had a guy who'd bring academic articles. Killed the vibe. We made a new rule. Talk about the book, not about other people's writing on the book. Saved us. Maybe just say the book club is for the book itself.
