My instructor's tree pose emphasis led to a discussion on embodying nature

One side believes flows should integrate poses that reflect environmental stewardship, like Tree Pose for forests, while others think it distracts from traditional practice. This came up after a class focused on earth-themed sequences. Do you think yoga flows have a role in promoting sustainability?

My tree pose lasts about as long as a sapling in a storm.

Tree pose wobbles mirror our society's struggle with mindfulness. We're all trying to find balance in a world that never stops shaking.

Stop turning yoga into a platform for activism. The practice was designed for self realization, not saving the planet, so inserting environmental themes just muddies its spiritual waters. Let yoga remain a personal journey, free from external agendas.
