Warning: my sauerkraut batch in the basement closet turned into a fizzy mess
I finally saw a tiny crack in the glass jar lid after two weeks, which let air in. How do you guys check your seals before a long ferment?

Ugh, the fizzy mess is the worst! I started doing the finger tap test on the lid before it goes in the closet, just to feel for any give. Lost a whole batch of pickles once the same way.

That fizzy mess reminds me of the time @the_sam and I tried fermenting hot sauce in an old soda bottle.
